Finally managed to get the HTC Task Manager 2.1 to work on omnia :D
Previously was able to get version 1.5 working, but it is not as finger friendly as 2.1
Here's the link for the download, install the cab file first. After that, copy the files in 'into Windows' to your /Windows/ directory, overwrite all the files in ur omnia! Lastly, import both registry file and restart the phone :)

dr-boom> that might be because the service is not started, if you have task manager, go to service, locate TaskManager, and hit start.

I managed to import reg file by using MEMMAID application but 1 of the file unable to import due to file error.
The HTC task application is appearing in setting panel but I unable to get the icon show on the today screen.
Mine Omnia currently firmware is i900DXIA5 (Official Firmware).
Please advise as I am really love this HTC Task Manager.

it is likely that the HTC service is not started. You could try Fdcsoft Task Manager (its a freeware). Go to service tab, locate TaskManager, and hit start.
certain application will result in the HTC task mgr not being able to start up automatically. i'm still trying to figure out which one is it.

I'm using Task Manager v3.1 by FdcSoft. So i would quote the steps for the above software (p.s. the software is free, you can google for it).
1. Launch the Task Mgr 3.1
2. On top right corner, there's an arrow pointing downwards, click on it.
3. Select RegEdit from the dropdown list.
4. Click on the first button along the bottom row
5. Select Import...
6. Browse to the reg file, and select done. N now you have the registry imported :)

The link that you have is missing some taskmgr files and the 2 registry files. I downloaded the v2.1 file from another site..
I hav followed ur instructions, tried all ways and means cant get it to work!
i have installed the cab in the omnia, copied and pasted the "into windows" files, imported the 2 registry files. then i reset, nothing happen. Then i used the Task Manager v3.1 by FdcSoft to go to services and click start, but nothing happen. reset also nothing happen. when i use the soft reset in the Task Manager v3.1 by FdcSoft, it said all my chges wun be saved. then i restart also nothing happen...
i have spent like 6 hrs on this already, pls help!

oh ya, whenever i restart and go to the services at taskmgr to chk, it is not started.. but when i click start, nothing happen...

i have tested the link, and it is working. Maybe you would to redownload from my link as i'm not sure if the one you downloaded could work on Omnia. There are a few builds for the HTC Task Manager, and not all of them will work for Omnia.
And if you are using touch 2D, try disabling it first, before activating the HTC Task Manager
hihi, i downloaded ur stuff and redo everything. after i install the cab in the device, when i tried to copy and paste the files, i cant overwrite some of the files and i manually go to my omnia explorer and delete, then copy and paste.
i did everything as per ur instructions but same thing... nothing happen leh...

hello, have you tried using total commander to copy the files? all the files need to be copied over.
try disable all the today screen items, and restart the phone. Thereafter, try to activate the service again.
Last resort is to hard reset your phone and try installing again. It might be some other stuff that you have installed causes the problem. Though i could not assure you that that will work for sure.

i must always go to the task mgr 3.1 then services and start it manually... anyway to solve this?

Sometimes the task manager behaves that way, unless you get those ROM with HTC task manager built in.
I'm trying to figure out how to make it auto run every time still.

where is "windows" file? i downloaded the registry editor but cant find "windows"

in the zip files, there is a folder by the name 'into windows'. You have to copy the contents from that directory to the windows directory in your Omnia using the file explorer.
The registry editor is used to import the reg files
im really sorrry but i still cant find the "windows diricetroy" in my omnia could u explain more detail?
i installed, but how do I go back to normal theme??

in your mobile phone, launch the file explorer, select My Device from the top left corner, tap on Windows folder

followed install no worries, however it still requires a manual start. Is there any way to fix this yet? - maybe make it start as the last service at boot?

i'm not sure if there is any workaround, the last time i read the main culprit is that the task manager are not signed legitimately, as such it is not allowed to start automatically.
do share if you found one =)
