A new firmware has been posted on the web, latest version standing at i900DZHJ1.
On top of that, Samsung now do away with the modem driver thingy. Therefore, one would just need to install activesync to update the their firmware now.

Hi Wen,
Remember me with my blocked Omnia?
Just thought since you had been so helpful, I'd let you know how it was going.
I took it on holiday back to Spain with me where I originally found it, just using it as an mp3 player.
Turns out it's not blocked there!
I could connect to hotspots with the Wi-Fi and also found the phone worked too!
:-)
Hi Geoff
Nice hearing from you again. Glad your phone works.
Enjoy your holiday in Spain =)
Cheers
Wen....you still there??
I've been searching through my emails to find your contact details again!
After saying that I am enjoying my Omnia the inevitable has happened!!
It's stopped working!
Since finding it, I've found it to be invaluable as my little companion when on holidays.
I can use the Music player, the camera and video, but the absolute most usefull thing is that I can hook up to Hotspots and collect my email and do a little surfing!!!
Unfortunately, the screen has always been very unresponsive, and I've had to use the "Mouse" feature, .....which was fine.........
But then when I charged it up in readyness to accompany me on another holiday to Spain this New Year, I find that the Mouse pointer has disappeared! :(
The screen is totally unresponsive, so I can't communicate with the phone.
All I can do is navigate to the "Mouse pointer" screen, select "Mouse"....but then I can't "OK" the change, 'cos that would need a screen tap!
Took it in to the local O2 shop yesterday, and they unfortunately did a factory reset.....now it only gets as far as the "Alignment" screen...with which I just cannot communicate.
I have a computer cable , so is there some way I can programme the phone via my PC??
Or is it now just fit for landfil! :(
Hope you can offer some advice!
Happy Christmas.
Hi Geoff
Is your touch screen not responding to any touch input anymore? If that so, you could try getting the screen from ebay and replace it yourself.
To control your phone via PC, you could try this software call MyMobiler. It allows you to control your phone via activesync from your PC. Windows Mobile will prompt you a security alert when you are running this software the first time. So you will still need to try to permit the software to run with your limited access to the screen.
hope this helps.
cheers
Thanks for replying Wen,
I thought you would know some software that might help!
Yes, the screen is totally dead, and the problem I have is that because the shop did a full re-set by poking the "soft re-set" button on the top of the phone and then holding down both the "call" and "end" buttons, I now get the windows set-up screen when I boot the phone, and that requests me to "tap the screen" to set up my device.
Well, I have to knock my knuckles on the screen so hard that I'm scared it will break before it progresses to the "Alignment" screen...at this point I'm totally unable to progress further using the screen.
I have heard that there is a way to avoid the "Alignment screen" :- open notepad. Click save as. From there, go to the what kind of file to save it as. Check All files*. Save it as welcome.not . Then you transfer the file to the Storage Device on your phone. Turn off your phone, turn it back on and the alignment screen will be gone!
Trouble is I cannot do any of that because I can't navigate the phone.
I've downloaded and installed windows Active sync and also "mymobiler".
mymobiler just says "Connecting" then "Not Connected" so I still can't control the phone.
Replacing the screen would possibly be cost effective...if the phone wasn't blocked in the UK!
Any other ideas?
Just in case it is of any use, I did make a back-up of the phone as it was when I found it, using "dotfred" It is still on my PC, and there is also a file on the Phone called "pim.vol" which is I think something to do with that back-up but I can't open it, or delete it!
It is 724KB, and earlier this year I tried to delete it 'cos windows was complaining that I should free up space but it won't delete.
Helpful?
Something to say?
